Dolcetto di Dogliani 2021
And here I naively always thought that Dolcetto was a sweet red wine until we tried it earlier this year when we stayed in Dogliani, the heart of Dolcetto. Met with the wine store manager in the basement of the Cathedral where he runs his wine store of the wine cooperative members. The wide variety amazed me. From very dark earthy almost full bodied wines to just the lightest fruity wine. Was just a nice experience after exploring all the heavy duty Nebiolo wines and the more simple, often single note fruity Barbera wines. Cheers.

love Dolcetto from Dogliani and Einaudi is a quality producer but this was somewhat harsh and underwhelming. red fruit, dried herbs, earthy but lacked balance & finesse — 3 days ago
