Last of the 5 Costco Thanksgiving ratings. This one tastes as cheap as it is. Plum, cherries, vanilla, alcohol burn. Pretty disjointed.
Listening to Son Volt. Can't believe it's been 30 years since Trace was released. Happy Record Store Day!

This is quaffable enough. Orange zest under blackberries. A oak is a bit heavy handed.

After a slew of ho-hum wines, this is very refreshing! A bit light bodied, so I didn't think i was getting much on the first sip, but it really has a nice depth of flavor and nuance. Would definitely try again with various food pairings.

Costco Thanksgiving wine 4 of 5. I'm starting to think these all taste the same 🤷‍♂️ Pleasing enough after a heavy dinner. On the lighter side, with cherries, blueberries, and vanilla.

I bought a ton of Costco wine for Thanksgiving because it's cheap and my family doesn't know or care. Took a sneak peek at this one. It's pretty solid, considering it cost $6 or $7. Spare me the 6 7 comments!

Barolo? Even I find that difficult. But you are a smart guy! You would serve an amarone della valpolicella. I checked the wines I served for family bbq-s. Often Mosel, bus also Margaux.

Margaux is a smart choice! @Peter van den Besselaar

The nose on this is stunning. Big and black fruit with a dollop of tar. The pallete follows the nose with blackberries, plum, dusty rock, and dark soil. An enjoyable balance of fruit and earth. Steak wine! This is excellent.

Just curious Dave, as a non native English speaker. I was always under the assumption that palette is something that a painter uses and the palate is what you use to describe the tasting sensory system. I see palette more often used in wine descriptions. Can you enlighten me?
Dave

Dave

You are correct! And I, as an English speaker, am known to misspell frequently 🤦‍♂️ Palate is correct! @Jan A

Costco Thanksgiving wine #3 of 5. Here we have a satisfying mouthfeel, flavors of dark cherry, leather, vanilla, and slate. Very ok!

Costco wine number 2 of 5 for the family suarêz. These came in the cute gift box, let's see how it does. This wine is very tannic, it has nice cherry flavors with leather and stone. After an hour of being uncorked, it tastes just fine! I truly like it more than a $60 Pomerol I tasted last week. Not bad.

This is a fine bargain wine. Tangy fruit- cranberry and orange. A holiday Yankee Candle comes to mind 🤔 A bit jagged on the finish, but pleasant enough on a cold evening.
