Northern Wisconsin with the family this week. I brought wine from the USA, Africa, Italy, and this one from Spain. Very nice! I guess i wrote this up a few months ago, so no need to repeat myself. Excellent value wine.

Ok my husband grew up living right on highway 8 not too far! It is pretty up there.

I was going to post on a langhe nebbiolo that I had last week, but then i looked to see what others had posted and found that I already had notes from a couple months ago. Totally forgot I had it. Was the same vintage too. 😝

Oh I've done that! But my point this time is that the wine is pretty forgettable 😂

ITA Red Blend 2023

Couldn't resist the pretty label. This is one of Joseph Wagner's cute new blends. They have an American, French, and Italian blend in this series. This is the Italian, composed of Sagrantino, Teroldego, Nero D'Avola, and Negro Amaro. And it pretty much tastes like everything else Wagner puts out. Not awful, got a bit of nice florals in it, but for the most part $50 gets you some slick marketing. I wouldn't have you search this one out.

Delectable didn't give this vintage much love, but Delectable has been shatting the bed lately. This wine is fantastic. I stole a sip, and letting it get a little air before steaks this afternoon. Wonderful medley of fruit and savory components. Lots of sediment. Nice balance, it's going to be perfect with the ribeyes.

A very dark blend, with Lodi Zin at the helm. Prune, bluebberies, smoke, nutmeg, cedar. Lush and heavy.

@Dave, I haven’t had any Peirano Zin since the 1990s at some of the ZAP tastings in Ft. Mason in the Marina District of San Francisco — fond memories, great times (until the crowds got to 3-5,000 for the general public tasting!! We had about 8-10 couples where we used to volunteer for Friday night glass washing duty so we could get into the Trade tasting and leave when the general public was let in — what a crazy wave of humanity that was!! I figure you woulda LOVED those crowds!! 🤔🤷🤣

Sounds like a hoot!
