Uranus detested his children. As soon as they were born, he forced them into Tartarus, a dark place deep beneath the surface of the earth. There, he brewed them into this beer!
It is pagan and arcane, with aromas of vanilla bean, malty forest moss, wet , cave stones. We are suspended for a moment before we drop in a starless night into a subterranean well filled with storm water. Then ginger and peppercorn lace the hops, curry spice and ash-laden black earth. Finally, magick runes on horse saddles. Do you hear the hoofbeats? Don't look behind you...it's Uranus!! — 10 years ago

Lots of oak, raisin and red fruit on the nose together with stewed plum. Palate is fresh and acid driven, with vanillin tannins. Plums, raisins and stewed red fruits with a nice liquorice savoury finish. — 6 years ago

This is a fine wine that pairs well after any pagan holiday that includes gifts. Strong finish with hints of peppercorns rolling off your tongue. Not all cabs can be drunk alone. This is an exceptional strong but standalone vintage. — 10 years ago

Smoked eucalyptus and gamey.

Blackberry, dark plum, tha basil, eucalyptus. mint, anise, layer upon layers of gorgeous fruit, with herbs dancing with great pagan mystery, underneath those waves.

This is one of those wines that hits every bit of what you want a more expensive bottle to be.
Priced to buy by the case as a every nighter.

Sharing a sentimental favorita with my babe on Xmas Eve, 2016. The musky perfume of Carignan old vines intermingle with the violets, thorns, and garrigue of Grenache-- all of it grown on a limestone cliff that clings to the old pagan culture of the Cathars.
