1988 vintage. A rare Marzemino-Merlot blend from organically grown vineyards near Brescia. Mario Pasolini passed away in 2011 without children, not sure what happened to the estate ever since. Still amazingly alive. It even gets better with air. Medium-bodied, floral, with delicate red fruit. This definitely has character and charm, even if the tannins are slightly rustic. A real 35 years old gem. — 3 years ago
What a shocker in the wine bar at guest house Casa Rossella in the Tunuta di Arceno vineyards. First that we are free to open a pristine looking bottle and second that it is still perfectly drinkable if not well over the hill! Neck fill is full like new wines, cork in good enough shape to come out in one piece using crappy butterfly opener. Nose dominated by acidic berries and thin earthiness. Palate still lively though rather one dimensional but got that old wine feel I like so much, Finnish long though thin. Lost couple of pegs next day when Joe and Chris tasted. Give it a niner for surviving! Not a fancy label either. — 4 years ago

This freak show of a wine I have a soft spot for. Pure Tintillia from Molise. The nose is just crazy. Nuts, anise, blackberry syrup and fresh blackberries. So much to the aromas. They are so present. Not wispy. Mean, evil aromas. But you cannot look away. Pasolini liquified. Rich but fresh and has so much energy. Velvety tannins that gain substance with air. Chewy and dense but also somewhat light on its feet. Long finish and very fresh. Really intense. But also elegant. A wine of contrasts. Let’s see what air does. But a great wine despite my meandering review. — 2 years ago
