Wattle Brae Eden Valley Riesling 2021

Another dry Riesling from down under, why not?
This is lovely. Right up my alley.
Lemon, lemon zest, flowery scents, some petroly touches too. Textbook Riesling nose. The palate is acid driven, as expected, with lemony and lemon curd notes all along, some good width and a massive grip in the rear. The finish is long, lemony and zesty and goes on for a super long while, leaving a tangy aftertaste that lingers for a moment. Great stuff. Different take than the 2 hands effort I tasted some time ago, unoaked, but very good example of the varietal. Thumbs up again!

Fortified Duck Heathcote Cabernet-Shiraz Blend 2017

What a beautiful unique way to finish a night of music and wine! The sweetness is not overbearing, but is balanced so well it allows you to enjoy and go back for more. Nose of golden syrup and honey with a hint of Australian wattle. Alluring to the taste with initial hit of sweetness in mouth but soon settles and balances out to be a smooth mid palate and finishes with a long lasting smoothness that remains for ever. Such a great wine to open my account with!
