The 2021 Red Westberg bursts from the glass with crushed raspberries and plums complemented by violet candies, baking spice and hints of clove. Seamlessly silky in character, the Westberg compensates with crisp red and blue fruits, all contrasted by hints of blood orange. It cleans up beautifully, tactile and long with a tinge of tart citrus and a savory herbal flourish over a coating of edgy tannins. PERFECTION!
A beautiful split of 50% Syrah and 32% Graciano and 18% Grenache all from the James Berry Vineyard. This full-bodied wine was fermented with whole clusters and barrel aged for two years in 50% new French oak. Deep blackberry fruit, rich and layered flavors of cassis and licorice with a subtle background meatiness. Drinking nicely on release, yet will evolve gracefully for over a decade.

I think the bottle was tainted but was still good. Olive, dark fruit, slight raisin yet tannins were integrated. Front and mid pallet nice no real finish though. — 7 years ago
