Beau vin puissant et épicé — 3 years ago
This wine is known for being fruit heavy in fruits such as Ripe Cherry, Strawberry, and Plum tones.
The nose of this wine blends these strong flavors with a rich scent of pepperiness and on the palate soft tannins accentuate a smooth and lingering finish.
By the way Makulu is a Zulu Nation word which means "Big" and this company's range of wines is known for living up to the name. — 11 years ago
Primary fruit settling down, now in a very pretty phase. No mourvedre truffle yet but perhaps to come.. — 2 years ago
Nice, crisp white. Great with shrimp scampi, sundried tomato and spinach pasta. Sishaye, meaning Splash in Zulu, is a partnership between winemaker Pieter Carstens and Splash Wines. Exclusively bottled for Splash, the wines of Sishaye come from curated vineyards throughout South Africa’s Western Cape. With a focus on creating delicious wines at outstanding values, Splash is proud to present Sishaye. Chenin Blanc is a South African specialty for good reason. Vibrant aromas of green apples and tropical fruit with a delicious, fresh finish. — 4 years ago

This is Merlot (70%) and Syrah (30%). Very dark color. Can’t see through it. Not much nose. Hint of ink and soil. Flavors are very savory. Elderberry tonic, charred meats, tarragon. It’s tart too. Strange very euro style. Not leaning into fruits or oaking. Just grape skins and minerality. It’s bitter and bold. Lower alcohol, but still full. This is a wine with character. Unique. — 10 days ago
