Big Nose Full Body Wine Sales in Brooklyn. “May I finish that Riesling?”
My contribution to “Chartreuse Night”
An amazing blend of botanicals cultivated at the distillery. There is terrific balance here. Had plenty of cocktails but preferred this neat at the end of the night. From Japan. — 20 days ago
Outstanding. Waxy, deep, and long. So much texture and stuffing. Hard to believe this doesn’t see any oak. Whispering sweet everythings to my palate. — 24 days ago
Really elegant. Apple, pear, peach, and tangerine. Some of the most renowned vineyards in Val-doh-be-AH-den-ay. — 13 days ago
This is the Clone 239 Riesling, @Delectable
Savory and mineral. Crisp and clean with muted fruit. Jasmine. Have another bottle that I’ll sit on for a while. — 17 days ago
55% Merlot and 45% Cab Sauv. Third wine from Brane-Cantenac. Silky with violet perfume. More red fruited with green notes, potting soil, and coffee beans becoming more apparent on day two. Should be a decent contender for 5-7 in the cellar. — 24 days ago
This is outstanding, it just needs more time.
Even with a double decant and eight hours open she’s shy and a bit aloof. Perfumed orchard fruit, honeysuckle, lemon verbena, with a smooth almost creamy finish. Let them sleep. — 24 days ago
I am consistently surprised by which rosé takes control at our shop year after year. This summer it’s been Alkoomi hands down. Our first year carrying this Frankland River blend of Grenache with splashes of Mataro, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. Incredibly pale in the glass. Medium bodied with strawberry, tangerine, and (per their website) lemon biscuit. It’s true there is a citrusy biscotti note here. I must admit, I’m a convert and have probably drank a case of this at home over the course of the summer. Family winery that farms sustainably. What will next year bring? — 13 days ago
Prem-ox unfortunately. Baked apples and toasted nuts with a golden color in the glass.
I have a pretty liberal palate when it comes to oxidation, but this one was a bridge too far and clearly not intentional. — 24 days ago
Austin Hohnke
Peppery wild raspberry and forest bramble. Concentrated charcoal and red rope licorice.
Sustainably farmed Willamette Mencia(!) from a single vineyard and a female winemaker. 112 cases made. What’s not to love? These are great value domestic wines. — 11 days ago
