Wow. Unexpected. Powerful notes of church incense, raspberry and rhubarb, cardamom and malabar pepper. A saline quality. Very harmonious. Energetic yet graceful palate with excellent delineation. Winner. — 3 years ago
Still brawny with lots of structure. Beautiful black and blue stone and berry fruit, chalk and minty cigar box. Absolutely delicious but also in no hurry. Great wine. 3 hour decant. — 3 years ago
This has matured into a big, ok huge, full throttle mouthful of CA Cabernet. Plum, cassis, fig paste, espresso and chocolate. Full mouthfeel and velvety finish. Absolutely requires a grilled bone in rib-eye. — 3 years ago
Holding up surprisingly well. Autumnal to be sure, with notes of spicy black licorice / licorice root, coffee, black pepper, camphor and mint. Black fruit with extended air. I miss this label very much. — 2 years ago
Consistent with my last notes. Bramble mountain fruit, violets, black pepper. Complete and integrated front to back, including the fine tannins at the finish. Wonderful wine. — 3 years ago
Drinking great right now. — 3 years ago
Everything I want in a spatlese. Great concentration and energy. Tangerine, lichee, hibiscus and petrol. Wonderful, oily mouthfeel full of minerals. — 3 years ago
All the Graves feels. Wet tobacco, slate, lavender, iodine and smoky, shishito pepper. Red fruit, more minerals and malabar pepper on the finish. Great. — 3 years ago
Excellent in every way. Lithe, cafe au lait, black olive tapenade, sage and chocolate. Plum. Wonderful integration and balance. In the window and not at all over the hill. 3 hour decant. — 3 years ago
