Delicious Cab from the awesome 2013 vintage, a beautiful example of what Oakville terroir can produce in expert hands. Soft, feminine, elegant, notes of dark cherry, raspberry and cocoa powder with lingering tannins. Worth jumping through hoops for! ;) — 8 years ago
Drank from a half bottle and it was at a really nice stage in its development. Great with bacon-wrapped steak! — 8 years ago
2008 Malbec. Aged well, bright briary fruit character is light on its feet while not lacking in concentration. — 9 years ago
With rain clouds approaching and an autumn chill in the air, it was time to roast beef and dig out something delicious from my collection. I was curious to see how a Malbec would age and am happy to report that this one did very well. Big lush fruit with sweet tannins providing elegant structure and a long finish. — 8 years ago
Beastie Boys private label! Made by Charles Hendricks at Hope & Grace. It's a delicious non-vintage red blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mouvedre, etc and apparently sells likes hot cakes at their bar in New Orleans! — 8 years ago
Aged gracefully, this Cab still has an enjoyable core of cassis and black cherry and it was smooth on the palate. — 9 years ago
I bought this at the winery many years ago after taking a tour with the winemaker Henri. He said he made his Chardonnay in a Burgundian style and it would age well for a decade or more. I said - challenge accepted! (Possibly more in my head than aloud.) It was a roller coaster of a wine that kept evolving in the glass to the last sip. Early on there was a slight corkiness to the mid palate but a bright start and finish and great acidity. This corky note dissipated leaving more of a fallen crab apple note with butterscotch coming through. It really opened up as the night went on showing wild complexity and depth of flavor. — 8 years ago
