Explosive rose petal aromatics with lots of spice. Significantly off dry on the palate was surprising. Good fresh acid and lot to much bitterness. #alsace #gewürtztraminer #blindtasting — 6 years ago
Classy St Emilion showing nice balanced oak with plush fruit and a notable Cab Franc presence (tobacco, leather). Should age very nicely. — 2 years ago
Excellent typical example of good Aussie Grenache. First impression is 'red Clare Riesling'. Clean with ripe red fruit (strawberry fruit roll-out). White pepper with a little heart. Best with a little chill. #blindtasting #australianwinetasting #yangarra #Grenache — 6 years ago
Great producers better known for Sauvignon. Almost pink from skin contact. A touch of RS and lush route fruit had me in Oregon. Cleanly made and tasty. Definitely not typical Pinot Grigio. — 6 years ago
Classic styled Brunello. Tart dried cherry, with leather and licorice. Pale translucent red with massive tannin and acidity. Thought it was Barolo. 🤷♂️ #blindtasting #brunello #Barbi — 6 years ago
Ripe with lush fruit but underlying minerality steers it back to Bdx. The longer it sits in the glass the more French it gets. Nice to taste the Rouge for a change. #blindtasting #carbonnieux #bordeaux — 6 years ago
Very pure grapefruit with chalky minerality. Barely noticeable pyrazines. So much fruit I almost thought it was NZ. #sancerre #blindtasting #alphonsemellot — 6 years ago
A bit long in the tooth given the deep golden color. Showing a touch of oxidation but not as much as expected. Pleasant resiny petrol note developing. We pretended it was older Cuvee Frederic Emile and it seemed to work. — 6 years ago

Very nice Gruner that works with a huge range of foods. A bit lush for a federspiel (12%) and somewhat lacking white pepper and watercress you would expect but a delicious wine nonetheless. — 2 years ago
