As always, over delivering. 2002 vintage. Open in ten years. — 7 years ago
Almost perfect but perfection does not exist.
What is striking here is how balance and integrated and youthful this wine is. Had it twice and I cannot see this wine going down. This is the equivalent of Mouton 82 for California. It’s muscular, right, beautifully crafted, oak is integrated, tannins are sublime, beautiful cassis cream, and blonde tobacco. Eucalyptus, tobacco, peppermint are flagrant on the nose .
This is monumental.
One of the very best wines I’ve ever had. BRAVO! #wine #california #heitzwinecellars #1974

thank you for proving my point. What a strange vintage. Still lacking integration, the wine seems to go everywhere on the spectrum and at the same time, going nowhere. I really don’t like 03 in BDX. At all. It’s a breaking point kinda vintage where wines were disintegrated then and feel disintegrated now. I avoid at all cost 03.

Beautiful wine from Marche. Light skin contact gives a beautiful structure that somehow mimics barrel usage without having the “corrupted” flavor profile.
I somehow had a touch of iodine in the nose, sea shell, sea breeze. I had it decanted and a slight oxidation amplified the mouthfeel. Delicious wine indeed, perfect for gastronomy. — 7 months ago
Yeah. That’s a killer. — 7 years ago
I love this vintage now. Cedar, camphor and pine as well as dry roses and pot pourri. Long finish full of elegance. The marker of Pauillac for me is blood sausage/iron/cured meat and here it was just exploding. Great bottle, classic, perfect for a blind tasting. — 6 months ago
SPEC TA CU LAR! Here you feel the absolute majesty of a wine who can be promoted to at least 2nd growth. Cedar, camphor, eucalyptus, butterscotch/4 spices, yellow curry. I’ve always loved ‘00 in Pauillac has I think it’s the last great of the classic style. Definitely this bottling is a keeper. — 6 months ago
#1996 vintage .
Glorious. Intense, silky, velvety, sexy. Chateau Latour style here, muscular and tight. Absolutely loved every bit of it. The final is epic! This wine just does not fade away! It builds on the palate forever. Beautiful — 7 years ago
Wasn’t expecting “much” of 88 Margaux but 😳 , it was a killer ! Plush, sexy, multilayered, everlasting finish, great oak integration and vivid acidity. Love the cedar-camphor- dry eucalyptus nose. This wine got it all right and had a truly great evolution. — 7 years ago
Ludovic Anacleto
inky, saturated, dark. Magnificent.
The nose full of violets, crushed rocks, black olives, cedar, black cracked pepper. Alcohol is medium.
On the palate, a masterpiece of tannin management, full throttle yet perfectly integrated, melting in dark ripe berry giving a wholesome mouthfeel and a highly pitched acidity giving lightness and brightness to the overall massive texture.
The full stem gives a lightness to the whole ensamble that is stunning and a masterclass of equilibrium and definition alike.
Buy by the case.
