Incredible spice on the nose. White pepper, baking spice and hints of Chinese 5 spice and tarragon. Black fruit is there, but it’s almost between black and red. Black currant. Nice long finish. The big oak you would expect from A rioja gran reserva.
It’s lighter in colour and body than you may expect. Still has youthful acidity and substantial tannin. Prime is probably 5 years away and it could go for 10. — 3 years ago
If you can get a back vintage of this wine, do it. Peppery on the tip of the tongue, lush tannins, ripe red raspberries and currants, tobacco. Everything you could want from a northwest Pinot noir. Decanted for 3 hours. — 4 years ago
Very Fruit forward, and about as full a Pinot as you will get. Almost like a California Pinot. Very very impressed, this is a cut above anything else from the Cowichan Valley. On par with any premium Pinot noir from BC. Try it if you find it! — 2 years ago

Such a unique take on a Pinot noir. I think this is a perfect expression of what you can get from a Saanich Pinot noir as typically you wouldn’t be able to develop full ripeness for a red. Well done, drinks like a southern Rhone (Viognier, finishes like a rousanne) and has subtle nods to a champagne. — 4 years ago

This is an exquisite white. Very different style of alvarinho. Bright acidity, a good body and soft mouthfeel. It drinks more like a Chablis. I’ve rarely rated a white wine this high, let alone a vinho verde. If you find it, buy it. — 3 years ago

Herbaceous nose. Black fruit in the mouth with notes of leather tobacco, spearmint and green pepper. This will probably reach its prime in 2-5 years. Exquisite wine. — 5 years ago

Well balanced, black fruit, nice full body. Good value and a good crowd pleaser. Nothing you wouldn’t like about this wine! — a year ago
