The 2019 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) is a terrific introduction to this range, and also an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Sweet red berry fruit, spice, cedar and mint are beautifully lifted. Medium in body and silky, with terrific balance, the Sonoma Coast Pinot is all charm. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2021)

The 2019 Román is a blend of Zinfandel, with dollops of Petite Sirah and Barbera, varieties I don't think I have ever seen together before. A whole range of floral, savory and earthy notes lend complexity to this bold, flavorful red. This is another wine in the range that offers superb value. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2021)

The 2019 Chardonnay Wester Reach is a terrific appellation level wine. Crushed rocks, lemon confit, slate and green orchard fruit all grace this taut, nervy Russian River Chardonnay. The 2019 is beautifully done. The blend of sites is 30% DuMOL Estate, 22% Dutton-Morelli, 16% Flax Estate, 16% Heintz and 16% Ritchie. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2021)

The 2019 Syrah North Coast is superb. A boisterous, forward wine, the North Coast Syrah is loaded with inky dark fruit, chocolate, mint, licorice, spice and menthol. The North Coast was done 100% whole clusters and aged in a combination of concrete and neutral oak. It comes across as a bit riper in profile than most of the Pax Syrahs, but for a wine meant to be enjoyed young, who cares? (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2021)

Winemaker Andy Smit blends a number of top Russian River sites for his Wester Reach Pinot. In 2019, the blend is 26% DuMOL Estate, 22% Flax Estate, 20% Dutton-Widdoes, 16% Dutton-Upper Road and 16% Occidental Road. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2021)

The 2018 Pinot Noir Gap's Crown marries all the elements that make the 2018s here so appealing. Aromatically expressive, deep and also quite structured, the 2018 is a wonderfully complete Pinot that hits all the right notes. Pomegranate, red cherry, mint, mocha, spice and lavender all soar out of the glass. The Gap's is another Pinot in this range that demands patience. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2021)
