Radio Silence

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2018 Radio Silence Cabernet Sauvignon is fabulous, and a terrific value too. Rose petal, lavender and cinnamon lift a core of purple and bluish fruit in a sumptuous yet mid-weight Cabernet that delivers the goods. The 2018 is a bit reticent at the outset, but it blossoms beautifully with a few hours of air. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021)

Mayacamas Vineyards

Napa Valley Chardonnay 2018

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2018 Chardonnay is an attractive wine, but it is also stylistically a bit different from some of the wines of the past. Creamy and silky in feel, with distinctly tropical notes. I am used to seeing wines with more structure. This is an especially airy, perfumed, easygoing style. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021)

Hourglass

Estate Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2019 Sauvignon Blanc is bright and crisp. Lemon peel, white flowers, mint, orchard fruit and tomato leaf are nicely delineated. The Sauvignon is done in equal parts tank and oak, with an approach that favors energy over volume. The bright, saline finish is so appealing. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021)

Di Costanzo

Di Co Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Delectable Wine
9.4

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon DI CO is a very pretty, delicate wine. Aging has really given the 2018 an extra level of polish I did not see in the barrel sample last year, especially in its contours. Inky dark blue/purplish fruit, sage, mint and lavender add expressive layers of aromatic nuance. This is an impressive wine, especially in its peer group. Readers who want to drink the 2018 young should give it a good bit of air first. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021)

Decoy

Limited Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Delectable Wine
9.0

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Limited is laced with the essence of blackberry jam, crème de cassis, tobacco, licorice and sweet spice. It is an attractive, mid-weight Cabernet to drink over the next handful of years. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021) — 3 years ago

Raymond Vineyard & Cellar

Reserve Selection Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Selection lifts out of the glass with tons of sheer intensity. Inky dark red cherry, mocha, cedar, spice and licorice are pushed front and center. This mid-weight, supple Cabernet has so much to offer. It’s a terrific introduction to the Raymond range. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021)

Leviathan

California Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2018

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2018 Red Wine is a plump, juicy Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. The 2018 is not quite as flamboyant as some other recent editions, but it packs plenty of punch. A rush of dark red/purplish fruit, crushed rocks, menthol, rose petal and spice build into the intense, layered finish. The 2018 can be enjoyed upon release, but it is at its best with an hour or two of aeration. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021)

J.H. Wheeler

Rose 2019

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2019 J.H. Wheeler Rosé, 100% Cabernet Franc from the Crocker Vineyard in St. Helena, is absolutely gorgeous. Beautifully layered and perfumed in the glass, the Rosé possesses striking complexity in a bright, airy style that is incredibly appealing. This is such a delicious wine. Pride Mountain Vineyards

Sonoma County Viognier

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2019 Viognier is fabulous. In fact, it might be the best white at Pride. Varietal aromas and flavors are everywhere in this wonderfully expressive, generous Viognier. The 2019 is a rich wine with plenty of Viognier viscosity, but the flavors remain bright, making for a wine that balances everything Viognier has to offer in grand style. Tangerine oil, jasmine, ginger and passion fruit linger. This is such a pretty and alluring white. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021)

Forman

Napa Valley Chardonnay 2019

Delectable Wine
9.4

The 2019 Chardonnay is compelling. In this vintage, the Chardonnay balances natural richness from aging on the lees with a touch of new oak (20%) with the energy that is the result of picking early and also blocking the malolactic fermentation. Lemon confit, marzipan, tangerine oil and white flowers all open up as this super-expressive Chardonnay shows off its character. Best of all, the 2019 can be enjoyed upon release. It is an incredibly delicious and rewarding wine to drink today. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021)
