Penner-Ash

Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2021

Delectable Wine
9.1

The 2021 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley is spicy with a bouquet of crushed woodland berries and flowery underbrush complicated by shaved cedar. It’s soothingly round and energetic, with cool-toned acidity and fresh red and blue fruits that swirl throughout. It leaves a subtle tinge of licorice and blackberry, only gently tannic, along with a hint of citrus that adds lovely depth. This is a perfect introduction to the Penner-Ash style. Jessie Vineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2022

Delectable Wine
9.2

Darkly floral and youthfully inward, the 2022 Pinot Noir Jessie Vineyard opens with a spicy mix of cedar shavings, earth tones and crushed black raspberries, all lifted by a hint of mint. This is more energetic than expected yet also full of youthful tension. Tart red berries penetrate deeply as grippy tannins settle in toward the close. An air of autumnal spice and lavender lingers as the 2022 finishes with medium length and ample structure. (Eric Guido, Vinous, August 2024)

Bethel Heights Vineyard

Justice Vineyard Estate Pinot Noir 2022

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2022 Pinot Noir Justice Vineyard displays an intense and beguiling blend of currants, grilled herbs, crushed ashen stones and savory herbs. This is round and soothing with cooling acidity and a lifted feel throughout as ripe red berry fruits wash across the palate, giving way to a sensation of liquid stone. It leaves the cheeks puckered, tapering off with a lasting tension as silty tannins saturate. (Eric Guido, Vinous, August 2024)

Argyle

Nuthouse Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2021

Delectable Wine
9.3

Autumnal spices, dusty lavender and steeped plums form a darkly alluring bouquet as the 2021 Pinot Noir Nuthouse opens in the glass. Soft-textured, round and supple, it envelops the palate with ripe wild berry fruits and hints of cola as violet inner florals add lovely depth. Gently tannic, the 2021 finishes spicy and long yet remarkably fresh. Already incredibly easy to like, the Nuthouse Pinot Noir is balanced for a pretty evolution over the medium term. Lemelson Vineyards

Jerome Reserve Pinot Noir 2021

Delectable Wine
9.1

The 2021 Pinot Noir Jerome Reserve mixes crushed raspberries and stone with hints of sage and rosemary. It's sweetly spiced with vividly ripe wild berry fruits and juicy acidity that maintains energy throughout. Medium in length, this leaves a staining of primary concentration and a pleasantly bitter twang, finishing lightly structured. (Eric Guido, Vinous, August 2024)

Evening Land Vineyards

La Source Seven Springs Pinot Noir 2019

Delectable Wine
9.4

A smoky blend of crushed raspberries, sage, cola and crushed stones creates a seductive bouquet as the 2019 Pinot Noir La Source comes to life in the glass. This is soft yet lifted in feel, with tart red and blue fruits that swirl throughout as violet inner florals resonate toward the close. The 2019 finishes perfumed and long with an air of lavender and a tart blackberry twang that lingers over a bed of well-rounded tannins. This is the first vintage in which Sashi Moorman was entirely happy with the structural balance achieved in the Pinot Noir La Source. I must admit, it's a compelling wine. Benton-Lane

Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2022

Delectable Wine
9.0

Vivid black cherry comes together with sage, shavings of orange zest and spice as the 2022 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley comes together in the glass. This is racy with cooling acidity and ripe red and blue fruits that saturate. Grippy tannins amass toward the close. It tapers off long and structured, leaving a pleasantly bitter tinge as hints of exotic spice linger on. (Eric Guido, Vinous, August 2024)

Gran Moraine

Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir 2021

Delectable Wine

The 2021 Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton is savory and sweet, with a blend of grilled herbs and flowery underbrush giving way to plum sauce and dark chocolate. It’s soft-textured and round, with lifting acidity and ripe wild berry fruits contrasted by hints of inner sage. Domaine Drouhin

Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 2022

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2022 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills wafts up a delicately spicy blend of dusty black cherries, ground cloves and dried roses. It is round and supple yet lifted in feel, with crisp red berry fruits elevated by a core of zesty acidity as hints of sour citrus add cheek-puckering tension. This tapers off long and perfumed with a bed of crunchy tannins that frames the experience remarkably well. I would never guess that the 2022 hails from a warm vintage. Bethel Heights Vineyard

Æolian Eola - Amity Hills Estate Pinot Noir 2022

Delectable Wine
9.4

The 2022 Pinot Noir Aeolian is darkly floral, as a mix of dried violets, lavender and incense forms an enticing bouquet. This is soothingly round and supple, showing a lick of salty minerality up front that perfectly offsets its ripe wild berry fruits. The 2022 leaves the palate stained in primary concentration, with a bitter blackberry tinge and edgy tannins that make for a lovely punctuation to the experience. The Aeolian hails from vines planted in 2001 at 700 feet in the higher elevations of Bethel Heights. (Eric Guido, Vinous, August 2024)
