The 2022 Chablis Vauprin has another impressive nose: taut and delineated. The mineralité of a Premier Cru with a clever reduction suggests some astute winemaking. The palate is nicely balanced, with a citrus-fresh entry, lively and animated, and a bright and vibrant finish. This is irresistible. Chapeau! Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis. The 2022 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru, 80% aged in used barrels, has quite a striking and powerful bouquet. It evinces a bit of wood contact that will need a few months to be fully subsumed, yet there is plenty of fruit to soak that up. The palate is very well-balanced, with a bright entry, peachy and zesty. The 2022 has quite a precocious, irresistible finish. It's not the most complex Vaudésir, but you'll have no regrets finding it in your glass. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2024)

The 2022 Chablis Bougros Grand Cru has a thrilling bouquet with real intensity and purity: citrus peel, crushed limestone and sea cave. The palate is exquisite in terms of balance, perfectly judged acidity, saline and fresh with seamlessly integrated oak (50% barrel aged for the first 12 months). This fans out exquisitely on the finish. Oh yes. Oh YES! (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2024)

The 2022 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has a fresh and vibrant bouquet. A hint of chai infuses the citrus fruit, becoming increasingly mineral-driven as it opens in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. A touch of white chocolate and peach skin gain depth towards the finish, but not letting go completely like Billaud's other Premier Crus. Still, this is a very classy Montmains. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2024)

The 2022 Chablis Vaulorent 1er Cru is often one of my favorite cuvées from Brocard. This has a succinct nose with peach skin, yellow flowers and subtle earthy scents. Superb delineation. The palate is well balanced with more salinity than the Fourchaume. Crisp and taut with a sense of energy on the finish. Excellent. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2024)

The 2022 Chablis Vau de Vey 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet with orchard fruit scents bursting from the glass with a bit more gusto than last year. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a slightly viscous texture and a saline finish. Excellent. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2024)

The 2022 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru comes from two parcels, one on the east and the other on the west side of the climat that have different degrees of sunshine. It has a lovely bouquet with mirabelle, lime and orange blossom scents that gain intensity with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Harmonious and poised, this has life-affirming tension on the finish. One of the most sophisticated and cerebral wines of the vintage. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2024)

The 2022 Chablis Vau de Vey 1er Cru was half-aged in a 5-year-old barrel and half in stainless steel. It takes time to settle on the nose, showing ample yellow fruit infused with crushed stone and light lanolin aromas. The palate is well-balanced, with mango and peach on the entry. It leans more towards the tropical side, though undeniably balanced with a deft touch of ginger on the finish. I'm intrigued to see how this will age in bottle. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2024)

The 2022 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru is similar to the bottle tasted last year with those traits of asparagus and nettle– quite involving aromatics. The palate is fresh with a crisp and pleasing line of acidity, though perhaps less malic than I remember it 12 months ago. Still worth picking up. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2024)

The 2022 Chablis Côte de Léchet 1er Cru has a backward, recalcitrant bouquet with hints of petrichor and Granny Smiths. The palate is well-balanced with a fine bead of acidity, harmonious and just a touch of bitter lemon lends tension towards the finish, which is quite graceful. It is well-made and delicious, though perhaps not long-term. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2024)
