The 2021 Chablis Valmur Grand Cru, aged in foudres, takes time to unfurl on the nose with touches of asparagus and nettle, well-defined if rather austere at the moment. The palate is well-defined with a slightly peachy entry. Lightly spiced and harmonious with those foudres allowing the terroir to drive the finish. I can see this having broad appeal, and it should drink without too much bottle age. (Neal Martin, Vinous, September 2023)

The 2021 Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru was bottled the previous May. It is still obdurate and backward on the nose with touches of yellow fruit and a hint of white peach. The palate is taut and fresh, very saline, but perhaps it doesn't quite deliver the knockout finish I expected from barrel, hence my slightly lower score. Still a serious Chablis, though. The 2021 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru, aged in 40% used oak, has a linear, slightly chalky bouquet that unfolds in the glass, a subtle mintiness coming through with aeration. The palate is textural and beautifully balanced, with finely-pitched acidity and slightly honeyed towards the finish, displaying seamlessly integrated oak. (Neal Martin, Vinous, September 2023)

The 2022 Chablis Village has a taut, focused, mineral-driven bouquet that opens nicely in the glass. The palate is well-balanced with a fine bead of acidity, quite waxy in texture with a pithy, peppery lingering finish. Enjoy over the next 4-6 years. (Neal Martin, Vinous, September 2023)

Named after the ancestor that originally bought the parcel, the 2021 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru Hommage à Louis has an intense bouquet with praline and white chocolate touches infusing the vibrant citrus fruit. The palate is very well-balanced, with a powerful opening. It's spicy like the Les Preuses, though many without quite the same ambition on the finish. But this is still very impressive. The 2021 Chablis Village sports a slight reduction on the nose, hints of green asparagus and green apples surfacing with aeration. The palate is fresh on the entry, very malic and linear. What it lacks is a bit of sustain on the peachy-tinged finish. This will make decent short-term drinking Chablis, and it is better than some of the Domaine's Premier Crus. The 2021 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru retains its serious and backward nose, very saline and still with that faint tang of kelp/Japanese nori. The palate is beautifully balanced with a keen thread of acidity, notes of orange rind and a more malic finish than I recall, yet with the same wondrous elegance and poise. This will age wonderfully in bottle and require time for the aromatics to awaken. (Neal Martin, Vinous, September 2023)
