Louis Jadot

Domaine André Gagey Clos Saint Denis Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2013

Delectable Wine
8.9

The 2013 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru has a slightly dusty bouquet at first, more black than red fruit, cooked meats, a touch of sous-bois and singed leather. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly rustic tannins. For a Grand Cru, I would have wanted more depth and grip, though that said, it is fresh with a pleasant dash of balsamic on the finish. Fine. Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé

Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Musigny Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2013

Delectable Wine
9.0

The 2013 Musigny Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru has a pronounced, minty bouquet with plenty of fruit. However, it lacks the bandwidth of a truly great Musigny from de Vogüé. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, briny with black olives infusing the black fruits, linear and structured toward the finish. Fine, but very serious. Like an old schoolmate who you've never heard crack a joke. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2023)

Domaine des Lambrays

Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2013

Delectable Wine
9.0

The 2013 Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru, which former winemaker Thierry Brouin made, has a well-defined bouquet with dark berry fruit, brine, undergrowth and kelp aromas. The palate is rustic but engaging. Raspberry pastilles, orange rind and tertiary notes appear toward the slightly attenuated finish, not long, but you cannot deny that it is charming. I would drink this now and over the next decade. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2023)

Domaine du Clos de Tart

Monopole Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2013

Delectable Wine
9.1

The 2013 Clos de Tart Grand Cru has one of the purest bouquets I have encountered: red cherry, kirsch, blueberry, sweet and candied with blood orange filtering through with continued aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, well balanced with hints of brown spices. It just decays a little with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, structured and maybe just a little monotone toward the finish. Perhaps just a touch over-extracted? (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2023)

Domaine des Comtes Lafon

Volnay Santenots-du-Milieu 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2013

Delectable Wine
9.0

The 2013 Volnay Les Santenots-du-Milieu 1er Cru offers blackberry, raspberry, undergrowth and loamy scents on the nose, nicely defined and fresh after ten years. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly rustic tannins, ferrous, lifted acidity with maybe just a touch more bitterness on the finish than I would have liked. It's a tad dry, but this still has much to offer. I would drink this earlier than the 2013 Les Perrières. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2023)

Château de La Tour

Clos Vougeot Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2013

Delectable Wine
9.1

The 2013 Clos de Vougeot Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru, picked from 5 October according to Pierre Labet, has a fragrant bouquet, fresher than many other tasted, pure raspberry and wild strawberry fruit, nicely integrated oak. The palate is less rustic than many others, finely balanced, with moderate depth and just a bit of hardness on the finish that one can easily abide. Lovely, though would I cellar long-term? Probably no. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2023)
