Tasty red that was very buttery

Jun 20th, 2021Loaded with Vanilla on both the nose and pallet. Lots of red fruit flavor with hints of chocolate. Wine tastes a bit sweet, and there is very little in the way of tannin. Is what it is.

Sep 7th, 2020Deployment wine has failed me once again.
I remember liking this in the past when I was younger. But this is kind of harsh and sour. Nose is pretty. Red fruit and earthy. But the palate is garbage. But I’m still drinking it because it’s literally all I got. 😅

Nice Cabernet. Should improve in the bottle. Green tannins. But all in all, frutty, with hints of wood chips.

Aug 15th, 2020The 20th crime would be not having a second bottle. A superb 2018 vintage with a smooth finish. Delightfully paired with Vermont cheddar and olives. Prisoner of love for this wine, guilty as charged

Jul 25th, 2020Some pretty omnipresent mass produced swill. Last time I had it was at the Rockets game with ol @Brendan Devine, for his bday I believe. Stadium swill. (All due respect to our friends at Unti, as I believe their Vermentino is available on the concourse at the Warriors’ new arena. This was all before the NBA relocated to a bubble, obviously. Shout out #moops.) It wasn’t good, but we enjoyed it.
However, it’s a real tale of two cities type of beverage. Here in the birthplace of our nation, good wine is tougher to come by than it should be. State stores are often the only option, and their selection apparently tops out at Decoy. Zinger, but true. Meanwhile Wawa is paying upwards of $200k for the right to sell Natty Light in a *single* store in DelCo. Some real residues of Prohibition ‘round here. Didn’t realize the Quakers were so puritanical but no doubt they likewise had no use for the drinking classes (my Mick ancestors). Enter 19 Crimes.
To paraphrase the iconic 90s flick “Swingers,” in Houston you can avoid stadium swill. In Philly, stadium swill finds you.
84 points.

Definitely had better cabs. Wouldn’t purchase again given all the many better options.
