Allan Scott
Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Sunday night the day after the 4th of July and we have been in a little bit of 90° weather and I a bit refreshing. I have decided to go to the lovely Sauvignon Blanc of New Zealand. I have opened the 2019 Allen Scott Family Winemakers Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough.
On the nose are beautiful fruit notes of peach, grapefruit, nectarine and minerality.
On the palate there is lime, grapefruit, passionfruit, nectarine and a nice minerality.
This wine is medium bodied that has a bright medium + acidity that leads right into a long crisp long fresh finish. I hope everyone's holiday weekend was an enjoyable one? I wish everyone a healthy and safe beginning to the week ahead. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Pears and green apples w racy lime and yellow grapefruit citrus, maybe a dash of apricot. It’s everything Marlborough sav is supposed to be. Nice layers and crisp acidity. Their reserve stuff is special but this is great.

But this one is very interesting, with lemon and grapefruit, tart tropicals like passion fruit and pomegranate, a little pineapple and lychee, and accented with hints of ginger, gardenia, and that trademark grassiness on the nose. Riper fruits peach and mango show up as it warms up such as. The palate has some mellow citrus with lemon and grapefruit, white peach, a touch of lemongrass and ginger on the nose with a medium long finish. Very very good, interesting Sauv Blanc and white wine in general, yet relaxed and refreshing enough to pair with food (like green salad, oysters, and dishes with citrus-led sauces).
