This afternoon I have opened the 2015 Soljans Estate Barrique Reserve Marlborough Pinot Noir.
On the nose I am able to get ripe cherry, strawberry jam, cola, ckove, mushroom, some funk, wet leaves and forest floor.
On the palate there is ripe cherry, raspberry, cranberry, plum, clove, mushroom and an earthy component.

It is Saturday night and I have opened the Maurice Bonnamy Crémant de Loire Rosé Brut. A blend of 100% Cabernet Franc grapes from south of Saumur.
On the nose there I find strawberry, raspberry, tart cherry, minerality and some yeasty qualities.
On the palate there are notes of strawberry, raspberry, tart cherry, bell pepper, yeast and food minerals.

The sparkling wine I have opened this evening is the Damien Pinon "Le Brut" Vouvray Brut NV.
On the nose there is apricot, quince, yellow apple, honeydew melon and ginger.
On the palate I find yellow apple, white peach, pear, mandarin orange, jasmine and minerality.

It is Sunday night and tonight's wine is the 2016 Favia Carbone Napa Valley Red Wine. This is a blend of 61% Cabernet Franc, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Petit Verdot.
On the nose I am getting raspberry, black cherry, strawberry, roasted jalapeño, mint, chocolate toasted oak and earthy notes.
On the palate there is strawberry, raspberry, plum, green bell pepper, violet, black currant, herbs, crushed gravel and good earth notes.
This wine is full bodied that is mouth filling with medium + acidity and medium+ mouth coating grippy tannins that leads right into a long fruit well balanced finish. Tonights wine I have opened is the 2019 Catherine Marshall Sauvignon Blanc Elgin Valley, South Africa.
The nose has beautiful aromatics with abundance of grapefruit, peach, nectarine, green bell pepper, herbs, grass and minerals.
On the palate the is lime, grapefruit, white peach, bell pepper, basil, jalapeño, grass and minerals.

On this Sunday night I have opened the 2016 Soljans Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
On the nose the aromatics are very compelling explosive with notes of lime, papaya, guava, honeydew melon, orange, passionfruit and minerals.
On the palate there are citrus notes, lemon-lime, nectarine, asian pear, melon, white peach and minerals.
This wine is nicely complex that is medium bodied with a oily saline mouthfeel that has medium acidity that moves nicely into a long clean citrus mineral finish. On the nose there is cherry, red raspberry, a good funk, hibiscus, clove and wet earth.
On the palate I get cherry, red raspberry, cranberry, spice, dried leaves, minerality and damp earth.

Today I had the pleasure of having the 2013 Gaja Brunello di Montalcino Pieve Santa Restituta Sugarille.
On the nose there was cherry, raspberry, plum, anise, balsamic, herbs, dried roses, leather and crushed brick.
On the palate were notes of cherry, black raspberry, plum, licorice, balsamic, leather and a hint of oak.
A well made wine that is full bodied with medium + acidity and high mouth coating sandy tannins that moves wonderfully into a long red fruit brick dust finish. Here it is another weekend. We have made it to another Friday and the weekend is upon us. I have opened the 2018 Colline Pescaresi Tiberio Pecorino from Abruzzo, Italy.
On the nose was very difficult to get the first readings until it came to room temperature. Once at room temperature I was able to get aromas of lime, yellow melon, almond butter, jasmine, sage and minerals.
On the palate the wine felt fresh with notes of lime, lemon, green apple, spice, floral notes, herbs, saline and a good minerality.

It is Wednesday night and I have opened the 2011 Bodega Calle Alberti 128 Torrontès Famantina Valley La Rioja Argentina.
On the nose there is meyer lemon, white peach, apricot, melon, banana, geraniums and a bit of rose petal.
On the palate there is a bit of citrus fruit, lemon, spice, wet river rock and good mineral notes.
