We opened the 2021 Occidental Freestone-Occidental Pinot Noir. This is from the West Sonoma Coast. Wine Spectators #2 wine on their list of 100 is every bit deserving of this spot. If you are a lover of Pinot Noir this is a must have.
The nose is very beautifly expressive and aromas just jump out at you strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, sour cherry, clove, violets, baking spice, vanilla and forest floor.
On the palate is sour cherry, strawberry, raspberry, clove, kirsch, violets, spice and minerals.
This is a medium bodied wine with a smooth silky mouthfeel medium to medium + acidity and medium fine silky tannins that leaves you with a medium to long red fruit mineral earthy finish.
