This is the 2011 Sandrone Cannubi Brochis Barolo. Single Vineyard from Piedmont. A wonderful wine we enjoyed this week.
On the nose the is strawberry, cherry, rose, graphite, balsamic, mint and pepper.
On the palate there is cherry, black raspberry, black plum, spice, pepper, herbs and light chocolate.
This is a full bodied wine with a smooth mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium+ firm fine tannins that leaves you with a beautiful red & black fruit underbrush finish. Earthy and rose aromas. Cherry, tobacco and spice. Dry with fine tannins. Perfect with cream sauce pizza with ricotta, pancetta and shaved black truffle. Last hurrah before newborn arrives.

This particular vintage apparently is not available to the public yet. As a note, I had spicy food before drinking this and didn't get the best read on the wine. It was luscious, round, and had wonderful restrained berry flavors. Wow! Get a bottle and let it sit a bit longer.
