Had this poured blindly for me today. Called it Chianti Classico. Not mad at the call. Hell, both countries are volcanic and Mediterranean:) Ripe cherry, iron ore, Darjeeling tea, and smoke. Hard edges tannins, light color, and highish acidity.

Burnt grape flavored rubber-bands escaping easily from the glass....making me seriously wonder if I even wanted to taste it ...but tempting fate I dive in to find a medium bodied very rustic and earthy wine with just a tip of the cap to the fruit which produced it!
