I’ve loved the wines from Alpha Estate for years but this was the first time trying the SMX blend. It did not disappoint. Full-bodied and dark, it produced flavors of blackberry, plum, chocolate, vanilla, and earth. Definitely needed some air before opening up fully, but it could have spent another couple of years in the bottle. 60% Syrah, 20% Merlot, 20% Xinomavro. 4/29/25. — 2 months ago
Transparent magenta color. Carbonic bright red cherry watermelon fruity aromas with a bit of yeasty biscuit. Off-dry with good acidity and tight tiny bubbles. — 12 days ago
Complex, medium to full bodied. Paired really well with beets, goat cheese and prawns. — 3 months ago
Little richer than expected. Still Nebbiolo like, richer fruit. — 7 hours ago
Super nice nose ! Very fruity with blackberry, raspberry, a bit of tar, a bit of bread yeast, a bit of pine sap. I could have called nebiollo on the nose. The palate is juicy and fruity with nice raspberry and blackberry notes, some width, some matter on the side, some dusty tannins that leave a drying layer over a nice amd fruity finish with a tiny, nice bitter note that adds a nice level of complexity to an otherwise youthful and playful wine. Good stuff ! — 3 months ago

I absolutely love Xinmavro and it's so hard to find it anywhere. A true delight (shout out to a pandemic vintage also), will be going to buy the rest tomorrow. — 3 days ago
