Dec 12th, 2018An evening spent with John Harris of Amici Cellars. Passed Hors d'ouevres, a 4-course dinner, and some delicious wines.
Third Course (Two wines devoted to this course): Short rib, corned brisket, various allium & ash, tobacco and turnip. Paired with the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and also the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Missouri Hopper vineyard.

Smooth with berry flavors, high alcohol content (15.1%). Very good!

Amici Reservations 2014. Dark cherry, plum and tobacco aroma. Obviously French oak. Tannins are evident but integrated well. As the wine opened up, the tannins slid away. Classic example of an outstanding Napa Cabernet. this has Napa written all over it! Wow! The Amici team is working wonders.

This was a nice big juicy wine. Tannins were manageable. Not sure if age will add much beyond shedding some tannin. Enjoy!
