Bought at winery. Garnet red, moderately extracted pigment. Leather, tangerine and red fruit aromas. Oak and cherry flavors, slight seed bitterness, good acid, wood and somewhat gripping acid-skin astringency on finish. Drinkable now, but not sure what additional aging will get you tannin-wise. More wood dominance and less fruit? Balance among the elements now so why wait? Winery tasting notes mention fresh fig (yes, how did I miss that?) petrichor (huh? Turns out I know what this is - smell of dust or dirt after rain first falls on soil, but I didn’t pick this up in the wine) and red currant (close enough). 40/25/25/10 blend of Grenache (tangerine note), Tempranillo, Syrah (cherry) and Mencia, 228 cases produced. If you’ve never heard of Mencia, Analemma or this AVA, you have to check them out! Only one bottle to taste *sigh* Give the wine an hour for the red fruit to come out and develop length, and a better quaff at that
