Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Cabernet Franc - Merlot Blend

Great balance and character, a beautiful creation from a blending varietal.

Strong earthy nose of oak bark and loam. Black cherry, blackberry and currant reduction, cinnamon sticks and clove inform the nose. Plums of red and black just underripe, tart cherry, dried raspberry, tarragon, rosemary, dried violets and graphite shimmers. Young and juicy, much more to give! .

So well balanced , Andrew Will still crushing it, yes I know his name is Chris.

Very vibrant and deliciously pure red fruits mingle with spices, and a sense of smoke. Slightly bigger than the bordeaux inspiration, but still more reserved and elegant than Cali. I'm finding nothing but great things out of washington lately.

Light aromas of menthol on the nose. Dusty black plum and black fruit. Med firm tannins with a plush, long finish.

I saw this come up on one of the emails I get and the scores intrigued me. I know @Carl Fischer and @Shay Aldriedge have been on about Cab Franc so I thought this equal blend with merlot would be a good start.

Indeed, wonderful perfume and full body. Yet light and not overpowering. A winner!

Cab franc comes through on the palate with ash and earth, the red mountain profile comes predominantly from the merlot half of this great blend

Phenomenal blend. Good fruit and smooth. 52% cab franc and then merlot.
