4 Seasons Pinotage
What a gorgeous color on this Israeli Pinotage. Dark ruby with medium intensity and a red rim.
Great nose of blueberries, cherries, strawberries, cranberries, cola, pomegranate, earth, vanilla, licorice, wildflowers, dirt, spices and black pepper.
Medium to full bodied and elegant, with high acidity and nice long legs.
Fruity, yet gentle on the palate with cherries, sour strawberries, vanilla, licorice, forest floor, pomegranate, blueberries and peppercorn.
Tart finish with tight, round tannins and black pepper.
This is a nice Unfiltered Pinotage blend with 15% Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Each varietal was aged separately in French oak barrels for 20 months and then blended together.
I had the 2010 a year ago which was awesome. This is a bit disappointing, too tart for my taste, but still good quality, smooth and elegant. I loved the color and the nose, but the palate, not so much.
14% alcohol by volume.
