As per previous notes. Dense crimson in colour. Cedar, blackberry and geranium. To borrow HH’s phrase “effortless style”. Demonstrates why Coonawarra’s red dirt is marvellous for Cabernet. 96% Cabernet 4% Petit Verdot. The Tally is the top Cuvée from Balnaves. Rich, medium to full bodied.

Sep 13th, 2020Medium plus crimson in colour. Strong Coonawarra mint on the nose and black currant. After a time eucalyptus/menthol notes. Classic Coonawarra Cabernet flavours with cassis to the fore demonstrating why it has been a great district for Cabernet for over 60 years. More opulent than savoury but still only medium bodied. Drink the last one in the next year or two.

Apr 24th, 2020Deep crimson. Notes of cassis, mint and bay leaf - also vanillan oak. Medium bodied with fine grainy tannins. A long future ahead even though 10 years old now. A great accompaniment to BBQ Cape Grim Rib and Waygu on New Years Eve.
