Lots of similarities between this and the ‘14 MEtain it was enjoyed alongside. Main difference here is that the dark fruits were accompanied by rich dark chocolate and added notes of plum. Loads of sweet blue fruit here (love that in cabs), with sandalwood, toasted oak, and nutmeg. Decadent.

Jul 27th, 2019Plum-y and all the dark berries. Very smooth. A nice change from over macerated cabernets.

Sep 24th, 2017Likely too young, but decant it for an hour and the integration of tannins, fruit, and nose all happens. Would love to revisit in 5yrs... But this was our first and last bottle.

2014 Barbour Cab $135. Deep red-purple. Excellent graphite aroma with black cherry. Suave and balanced with a nice spine of structure and drying finish that bodes well. Drink now and over the next 12 years. This wine is under rated in the marketplace and actually a value for the price.
