The other night I opened the 2021 Barboursville Vineyards Virginia Reserve Cabernet Franc. From Barboursville, Virginia a blend of 90% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot.
On the nose there is strawberry, raspberry, herbs, green bell pepper, violet, graphite and crushed gravel.
On the palate is strawberry, raspberry, red plum, pepper, herbs, green bell pepper and crushed gravel.
This is a medium bodied wine with a smooth mouthfeel medium to medium + acidity and medium to medium + integrated silky tannins that provides a long red fruit herbaceous finish.
