Needed more time that we gave it to open up. Interesting and bright, but still very tight.

Apr 6th, 20172010 vintage. Quite dark for a burgundy, although still in the medium ruby hue range. After an hour of air, the wine is now showing high concentration of aromas: blackberry, tan, nutmeg, tan leather and some mild earthy notes. Smokey cedary notes to the fore. This could be Cote Rotie. On the palate, medium plus acidity, some chunky tannins - yet to fully integrate. Medium alcohol and good length. More of a pepper note on the finish. Very good, but a little big for my taste. Leroux has undoubtedly evolved as a wine maker since making this vintage and would probably acknowledge that he underperformed in this particular (great) vintage. Drink now until 2027+
