Nothing better than this wine with a wagyu steak at Spago! So happy to be out for dinner enjoying this wine.

Perhaps a bit past its peak but still showing very well. I’m a sucker for older vintage Beringer and Mondavi reserve but I think the Mondavi’s have better stuffing for the long haul. This was a mature Cab with a muted bruised plum/fig/mocha profile that shows nice balance and restraint. Drink now.

Wow - 21 year old wine that has stood the test of time. 1994 vintage. Highly aromatic nose with leather, dates, quince, black fruit, tobacco, bell pepper, vanilla and earthiness. Palate less intense, yet notes of red cherry, vanilla, bell pepper, mocha and almond. Still has elevated acid and tannins (soft), but reaching its apex. Drink now. Will not continue to develop.

Very plush, soft, accommodating and oaky. Rich blackcurrant and dark fruit. A bit blurry and indistinct. I think there’s a bit of cork on this. Friendly, tasty but a bit dumb.
