I haven’t really enjoyed this producer due to how much ABV it shows, This was the first time it didn’t burn the back of my throat. Still big and dark. It’s a 30 plus year wine.

Victoria from Bevan Cellars came to town and put on a wonderful tasting of some current releases.

See my note on the EE for my thoughts on the comparison. This seemed closed at first so I initially favored the EE, but the CF aromatics here won me over by the end of the night. Explosive nose full of rich blackberries and spice. Potpourri too. Velvet like finish. These cabs were only bottled in April and even with a 4-hr decant, they drank well (Bevan signature style).

Completely coats the glass with dark ruby veins. Rich nose dark spices and black fruits. Heavy tannins (8/10) with a full body. Layered palate with blackberries, spices and a touch of oak. Long and lingering finish. Drink from 2019 till 2039. (93-96)

Decanted for 1 1/2 hours. Beautiful wine. Has a lot of life left in it. Although it was powerful it was soft at the same time. Lovely blue and black fruit on the nose.

This is so amazingly delicious! Blackberry, dark chocolate, and licorice with a super-sexy plush texture. No trace of heat; just perfect balance. Wow
