Brut Réserve Crémant de Bourgogne Chardonnay

#cremant de #bourgogne and first #lilacs of the season - not bad for a Sunday night

Week old. Just realized it is sparkling Chardonnay and not champagne. Thought it tasted off last week lol

Bone dry, simple, bright and citrusy, awesome price

Pairs beautifully with luscious foie gras or fried chicken!

Raising a glass on Mother's Day. Not bad for Trader Joe's.

Not much of a finish but plenty of acid and a touch of fruit

I don't drink champagne very often, but this is a really lovely & affordable option for those moments when you want a good bubbly. Not overly sweet or too dry, nicely balanced and pairs well with food (I recommend sushi) or stands alone. A solid choice! (As a side note, this was recommended to me by a very knowledgable wine clerk at Trader Joe's who used to live in France and drank this all the time. Even though this is not *technically* champagne it still has a solid pedigree - the label has been making this wine for 300 years!)
