Star bright yellow gold. Moderate nose of baked quince and white flowers. Echoed on the palate adding white pepper and birch. Medium full body. Medium plus(!) acidity. This is the second Virginia Viognier that I’ve had with somewhat elevated acidity. I’m beginning to wonder what’s up down there. Viognier should be fat and round, not lean and linear. That said it’s still a tasty wine that works very well with foods. Roast pork tenderloin or poultry will be particular friends.
