Jun 22nd, 2017This Spanish blend is really lovely and balanced. It has medium, ruby color with medium aromas of spiced red and black fruit. It has aromas of stewed plums, cherries, blackberries, and nutmeg. The tannins and alcohol are bold but I am really enjoying it. It reminds me more of a Côtes du Rhône than a Spanish wine, mostly because it is fruitier and not as spicy. The varietals are incredibly well-integrated and almost comes in waves-- first, delicate aromas of the garnacha and then the Syrah/cab takes over your palate. Really great wine at an affordable price. Maybe still a bit young though.
