Sipping Fine Wine

Owned in collaboration with Chris Ringland, Jorge Ordonez, Miguel Gil and others, located in Valley of La Aragona inside the Murcia district of Jumilla. Very dark almost purple with floral fruit aromas & floral spice. On the palate blueberry & sweet black cherry flavors, savory with great velvet mouthfeel, 24 months aging on French & American oak, the 70% Monastrell & 30% Cab Sauv has fine soft tannins, well balanced with earthy mineral tones on a lingering finish. A Fav! Will age well!

The 2016 Bodegas El Nido ‘Clio’ is another impressive release from this storied Jumilla estate. The bouquet evokes intense dark fruits aromas with roasted dates, chocolate covered espresso bean and hints of tar. There is a wonderful freshness to this highly viscous wine, as layered dark fruits with silky tannins line the palate. Not for the weary, this decadent new ‘Clio’ is marvelous in its youth but will continue to evolve well for a decade or more. Drink 2019-2031- 93

Opaque garnet with purple edges.
Stewed black fruit.
Juicy, retro nasal hair burning alcohol.
Dense soft tannins.

Spanish genes but styled in California, she is a lush but comes across shy. Love her and she was reasonable. Opened the door for herself. Yes cheery on the finish!
