Pale yellow with a very significant tear. Blending godello with a very special grape variety called doña blanca. Age for 5 months, it reveals asparagus, white pepper and lemon scent on smell. Silky and easy to drink. Not very long persistence. It worked pretty well with tuna tataki and low temperature cooked seabass. Around 20€, it was empowered by a thrilling and stunnig views from Altea mediterranean bay.

A very well made Mencia with great dark cherry fruit and chocolate, smooth tannins, good acidity, an absolute pleasure to drink though little development in the glass it does what it does very well, smooth drinking with wonderful fruit.

Good mencia haunts my dreams. Deep plum color, medium body, black cherry, light tannins on the finish. Gimme.

Smells like a Rioja. Starts a little sweet but finishes dry

My kind of easy drinking wine. Medium body and luscious dark, ripe plum fruit.

At first funky, then the funk blew away, leaving a complex, smoky, leathery aura around a core of blackberry, tar, and roasted game. The label mentions "12 months on fine oak", but any oak influence is not apparent, at least now. I can see how this might be a polarizing wine. Count me in the "hells yeah" column.
