for something aged in oak, theres little detection of wood. brownish tint. cherry. mesquite. clipped acid.

You have to like some good wood, but this spicy, dill-y, bright red-fruited beauty is rocking my world right now.

Enjoying this bottle from Spain. Mostly Tempranillo with a little Grenache added. Nice red fruits, allspice & leather w/ hints of lemon in the finish.

I guessed this as the #1 and it was! Magnum was delicious! Blind tasting of 12 Riojas, lots if somms and a $30 bottle of LAN 05 lost by one point... Go get some!

Intoxicating nose, well evolved tannin, and nice sweetness to the finish.

This was my favorite vintage of Pecina upon release but the structure seems to have faded a bit in the last year or so.

RIO-Haaaaaaaaaa

Unapologetically old school, this is classic. Tons of iodine on the nose and palate, but some pretty pure fruit poking through as well. Overall a bit restrained (in a balanced way) with still somewhat decent acid and a nice finish. Enjoyed.
