First night open I didn’t really like. Sweet fruits and off balance. Night two it’s a different wine - more balanced fruit and structure. Still not exceptional but much better the second day.

I found myself enjoying a young Rioja Reserva just as much as an aged one for it’s brighter fruits while still offering some complexities. And this 2014 Muga is a good example. The fruit was somewhat Pinot-like, and a bit rustic. and the tannins was fresh and round. Very consistent throughout the different vintages I’ve tasted.
