Excellent expression of Tempranillo. Powerful with great fruit complimented by a healthy dose of new oak. What will surprise you is the high acidity.

2008. Another burly but promising vintage of this intriguing wine.

2008 vintage. Mellow on the front end with some plum and smoke. More acid than normal for a rioja. Worthy of a spicy meal but not overpowering.

91/00 And now the 08!
Mirto is a big Rioja, my ideal with both weight of nose and palate, a fraction less than the 09 only.

The nose has great structure and offers its French Ian legacy as white pepper, sophisticated dense fruit, vanilla and oak hints.

The palate has a little pepper, great weight and body, it reinforces the nose driving complexity with fruit tempering oak, and balance.

Finish is linear, substantive and long.
