Bodegas y Viñedos Paixar
Bierzo Mencía
Dark, opaque wine with bright edges. Nose is restrained with smoke, dolomite, black raspberry, plum, sweet cherry, a bit of raw suede leather, and a bit of unsweetened espresso. Palate is balanced for acidity and alcohol, but stands out for fine rustic tannins and a mouth filling graphite texture. This wine has the creaminess of a good Aussie Shiraz without some of the sweetness. Finish is very long. This wine could go on for 10 more years. Nice.
