Bogle Family Vineyards
California Petite Sirah
Seriously enjoying this little number. Getting a range of delicious scents on the nose but admittedly has taken quite a while to express itself. Forest fruits and blackberry, bitter dark chocolate, fresh plum and the tiniest of red cherries, mocha, tobacco and pepper. Palates bone dry. First thing noticeable was the high level of tannin, chewy and a little astringent, reminiscent of nebs. Medium (+) acid, being far more prominent as tannins become silkier. Really started showing its darker fruits after 4-5 hours decantered.
