medium straw color, pale watery rim, medium tearing; subtle aromatics, lemon, lime, butterscotch candy, no significant new oak; lemon, nice minerality; medium body, good acidity; sourced from cool vineyard site leased by Kurt Beiler on a wooded bluff about 5.3 miles from Pacific and planted to old Wente clone, small crop, drought year; whole cluster pressed, fermented in seasoned French oak barrels, minimal lees stirring every 2-3 weeks, complete malolactic fermentation; a lovely if somewhat delicate Chardonnay; $49

Darker yellow appearance, very light aromatics, minimal oak, lemon, high acid, medium + minerals, 13.9% EtOH

2016 crop of Wente Selection Chardonnay hand-harvested on 9/23 with a yield of 1.05 tons per acre. Whole-cluster pressed and cold fermented in seasoned French Burgundy barrels. 147 cases produced.
