En mag from @David L and after a crumbly cork incident this just blossomed like a gorgeous Spring Mountain flower. Dense chocolate covered blue, purple and black fruit, crushed volcanic rock and blueberry smoke.

@Benjamin Keator had his hosting at the CC tonight and it was absolutely incredible. What a night of gorgeous wines! All wines are guessed blind.

5 reds tonight. 5 Bonds. Insane. I’m not going to try and evaluate each one as if they were crazy different because honestly, I found it fairly easy to determine all were from the same producer. That being said, I guessed all 5 reds were from the same producer and waffled between a horizontal or vertical...I ultimately chose vertical (which was wrong). I guessed all were Napa cabs. This was the first Bond that I got some mint with, as in Andes mint. Dark chocolate with a fresh and mint leaf core. The fruit here tasted so young, so much so that I thought this was a ‘12 out of a vertical. Mainly black fruit with a touch of cassis and blue fruit starting to show. Big potential.

Undeniably great Cab, but I wish it wasn't quite so oaky.

First time tasting Bond wine. Quite a bit of tannins but beginning to show after a few hours of air. Dark, juicy fruit, lots of toast and wood tannins. Fun to try

2 hour decant(lots of chunky sediment). Served a little above cellar temp. A formidable murky dark ruby red with a little bricking. On the nose: bursting from the glass is menthol, cassis, sweet blackberry, wet rocks, cinnamon. Taste: big black cherry, earth, tar, with soft, sweet but still a little there tannins. A vanilla bitter chocolate long finish. Rich and compelling with great structure. Drinking great, but will go another 10 years...probably my favorite of the 06 Bond wines.

Luv the nose — bursts sweet blackberry cherry fruit and menthol so powerful, lingering notes of cinnamon wet rocks and coffee. Color dark blackberry and hues of brown. Black cherry, earthy and tar taste, tannins still present but soft and sweet. A dark chocolate bitter vanilla and long finish. Complex structure with layers of flavor.

Awesome, well structured, many layers of flavor. Really amazing. Can age longer.

Big bold concentrated wine. Dark plum, roasted coffee & scents of cedar.
