Brand's Laira
Blockers Coonawarra Shiraz
Any guesses what ‘blockers’ may mean?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I wasn’t too sure, so after a bit of Googling I found this explanation on the Brand’s Laira website:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Named in honour of founder Eric Brand, one of the original ‘Blockers’ (landholders who sold their grapes to larger wineries in the 1950s and 60s). The wines have developed a name for their bold fruit flavour, and trademark powerful yet elegant style.” Well there you go!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I found this 2014 Shiraz from Coonawarra a cherry red colour in the glass. Vibrant aroma of red berries, plums, blueberries, red liquorice and vanilla rise from the glass. While in the mouth it’s super juicy and fruit forward. Easy drinking and satisfying ☺️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A big thanks to #CasellaFamilyBrands for sending this little number over!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #winesample #tcweekdaywine
