Il Bugiardo Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore
Dark ruby in color with a ruby rim.
Lots of acetone on the nose, which drowns the fruits, but also with tart cherries, strawberries, raspberries, oak, spices, earth, leather, green pepper, chocolates, smoke, herbs and peppercorn.
Medium bodied with high acidity and some legs.
Tart and dry on the palate, with sour plums, cherries, strawberries, pomegranate, oak, licorice, spices and peppercorn.
Long tart finish with soft tannins and tart strawberries.
This Ripasso is unbalanced, not ready now, and needs a couple of years to chill in the bottle. Not a sipping wine, but rather better with food.
14% alcohol by volume.
